SPCC Plan Components

The SPCC process defines the procedures for preventing, containing, and cleaning up oil spills for the purpose of preventing oil releases from reaching navigable waterways and adjoining shorelines.  Our SPCC consultants ensure that regulatory and industry standards are maintained.  SPCC Plan components primarily consist of: 

  • Developing a facility description and diagrams of key site features 
  • Establish amounts of oil stored, discharge predictions relative to facility drainage patterns
  • Determine requirments for bulk storage containers including overfill protection, volume monitoring and container loading/unloading protocols
  • Establish bulk storage container inspection and testing protocols
  • Establish emergency contacts and release response protocols
  • Obtain management approval and Plan Certification.
